Why Buy a Home in Wahikuli?

One of the biggest advantages to buying a home in Wahikuli is the proximity to Wahikuli Wayside Park.

Most people want to live near the beach, not only for the views but also to use and access in their daily lives. However, this is not always a possibility due to reasons such as rocky shoreline, limited parking, or if it’s simply too crowded. This is not the case at Wahikuli Wayside Park. If you buy a home in Wahikuli, you will be just across the highway from one of my favorite beach parks in West Maui.

Wahikuli Wayside Park

Here Are 5 Reasons Why:

1. The Beach

Wahikuli Wayside Park contains a sandy beach perfect for sunbathing and swimming. It is also a great beach for a variety of activities such as stand up paddling or floating on your favorite floaty! Locals also use this spot for fishing and spearfishing. And, it’s a great place for snorkeling, as the reef here is accessible from the beach.

2. The Park

It contains a large grassy park with covered and uncovered picnic benches along with barbeques (although currently off-limits due to Covid-19). The beach and beach park are lined with mature trees that provide shade from the hot Lahaina sun. It is the ideal place to have a picnic lunch or sunset cocktails.

3. Walking Path

There also happens to be a walking/running path perfect for your morning or afternoon workout. The path spans this coastal stretch from the north end of Lahaina town to the south end of Kaanapali. It ends at Hanakao’o Beach, also known as Canoe Beach, which is home to all the outrigger canoe paddling clubs in West Maui. If you want to keep going, you can continue your trek on to the beachside boardwalk in Kaanapali.

4. Ample Parking

The entire park contains three parking lots located right across Honoapiilani Highway from the neighborhood, making access very convenient.

5. Breathtaking Views

The 180-degree views from the park are breathtaking. The views include Mala harbor’s sailboats, Lanai, and the silhouette of Kaanapali’s resorts.

The Wahikuli neighborhood directly across the highway from this lovely beach park is a great choice to consider when looking to buy a single-family home. Lot sizes are large and there are no HOA fees. It provides beautiful views of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. Read more about the Wahikuli neighborhood here.
