Big Island’s Waimea July 2012 Home Sales – Heavy on Wet Side Homes

This Wet side home (MLS# 253525) is one of several homes on an acre or larger lot size

In the ongoing look at which side of Waimea is the sale champ of the month, the wet side was the big winner with almost all the sales of the month. Total sales for the month were 7 homes with an average sales price of $340,689.

Here is a look at July sales in Waimea:

A Look at Wet Side Homes For Sale

There is a large range in prices for homes in Waimea on the wet side – starting at $189,500 and going up to $1,500,000. Many of the lower priced homes are either a short sale or a bank owned foreclosure property (REO).

Many homes in this area have Mauna Kea mountain views, particularly the homes located higher up on the green hills of Waimea. Lot size also comes in a large variety, ranging from homes on under 8,000 sq.ft. lots up to homes on acreage.

At the high end of the price range is a home on 43 acres located just south of the Puu Nani subdivision. Also common here is the Parker Ranch inspired ranch home architecture, usually with green exteriors and red roofs.

This home on 43 acres (MLS# 252972), contains an interior with a Koa wood kitchen and dining area

I’ll be back next month to look at August sales in Waimea. I love the Big Island!

Aloha.
