Set against Waimea’s rolling green hills and distinctive puʻu, 65-1542 Kawaihae Road offers a classic Hawaiʻi plantation-style home on the dry side of Waimea. Built in the early 1960s, this 4-bedroom, 2-bath single-wall home reflects the character and simplicity of an earlier era, with a comfortable footprint and potential for thoughtful updates.

Location is a key feature. Enjoy Waimea’s cooler upcountry climate with the sunnier conditions of the dry side, along with views of the surrounding puʻu and mist rolling across the hills and mountains in the distance. Open landscapes, changing skies, crisp mornings, and a relaxed country setting define the area.

The home is ready for updates, with its plantation-style character, setting, and location providing a solid foundation for its next chapter. Preserve its original character or rework the space for modern needs while creating a home that reflects your own style in Waimea.

Conveniently located near the heart of Waimea, the property provides easy access to shopping, dining, medical facilities, and local schools, including Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy, Parker School, Waimea Country School, Waimea Elementary School, and Kanu o ka ʻĀina. The Kohala Coast and its beaches, resorts, and recreation are also within convenient driving distance.

I am interested in the Kawaihae Rd property. Every year I visit Waimea twice, recently all of September. Now, I have returned to San Diego, regrettably the property wasn’t known to me. My offer would be cash. The San Diego home wouldn’t be sold. If I am able to buy the property, I would move to Waimea.
