Waikoekoe Lane – An Off-the-Grid Gated Ranch Community in Waimea-Kamuela

Aloha! I recently toured a gorgeous ranch estate (MLS# 239295) off Mud Lane in Waimea for a client and I wanted to share it with you! Waikoekoe Lane is a sustainable ranch community off-the-grid on the Green Side between Waimea and Honoka’a.

This 38-acre ranch is located less than 8 miles from the center of Waimea in the ranching community of Waikoekoe—the only true 100% green community on the island. Once part of the vast royal holdings of King Lunalilo, Waikoekoe is situated above and overlooking the mountain ridges of Waipio Valley.

Purely dramatic views surround this property on all sides: the rugged mist-shrouded Waipio Valley rim from the Waimea side of the canyon, the blue waters of the Hamakua Coast, Maui (and at times the night lights of Hana), and the majestic Mauna Kea dominate this otherwise gently rolling and still pristine pasture land with healing, clean air.

If your dream of living a rural (yet luxurious) lifestyle includes close proximity to college preparatory schools, medical care, businesses, and the resort amenities of the Gold Coast, this place fits this description. The below video shows the driving experience you will have from the highway to the community gate.

The drive to this property is magical…just being able to drive through those tall trees on Mud Lane then onto pasture land, and seeing the mountains of Waipio Valley on the way home…you will truly feel blessed to be on the fertile lands of Waimea and the Hamakua Coast. The next video (below) is of my drive from the Waikoekoe Lane community gate to the property.

One of the things I love about living in Hawaii is the “fusion” of diverse cultures and how they’ve been able to integrate tastefully into each other. Pictures of the Hawaiian ancestors, Japanese deities, and the American ambiance of a country home blend perfectly to create these very welcoming living areas.

Below is a video preview of the downstairs living area. I think my favorite room downstairs is the kitchen. With its warm colors and lots of space for large families to enjoy, you will feel right at home while entertaining! This room has this full-sized kitchen with lots of places to enjoy company—either at the breakfast bar, the large dining room table area, or near the lodge-style fireplace.

This room was breathtaking to walk into as the picture windows embrace the rolling hillside of this pastureland property with forest and ocean views beyond…the daybed with the fireplace nearby was just one of the features that I loved about this room.

Here’s a video (below) of the upstairs living areas—there was so much lovely detail to this home, I wanted to make sure I looked at everything as slowly as I could.

My favorite room upstairs was the master bathroom suite. With picturesque views of Mauna Kea, the mountains, and pastures, and overlooking the entrance to the property. You will appreciate the morning sun, along with the beautiful colors of tropical flora and fauna below as you bath in the huge tub or shower in a separate shower room.

The exterior of the property was exceptionally well maintained with tile in the breezeway, lots of concrete around the house, and beautiful tropical landscaping to enjoy. The video below is of the exterior of the property (sorry for the sporadic loudness, that’s the wind blowing).

This is off-the-grid with its own photovoltaic and battery back-up system, along with its own water catchment tank and sustainable living features to keep you self-contained while having the modern conveniences at your finger tips.

If you are interested in more information about this, or any property in Hawaii, please contact me anytime at 808-756-4874. I would be happy to do a video preview of the property, especially if you are seriously interested in something and can’t make it to Hawaii yet to see it.

Many people are buying properties sight-unseen because the prices are great—so I recommend doing a video preview, along with a home inspection, just so you have peace of mind with the details while you aren’t present to see them for yourself.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this gorgeous ranch estate at Waikoekoe Lane as much as I did! I look forward to showing you folks around anytime, and I’m always happy to research any properties for you as well.

Blessings & Aloha~
