Puu Lani Ranch Amenities: Equestrian-Friendly & Vacation Rental Friendly

I recently fell in love with Puu Lani Ranch and wanted to share the awesome amenities that they have.

Puu Lani Ranch is a Gated, Equestrian-Friendly Community

Puu Lani Ranch caters to the equestrian lovers who enjoy being near the historic countryside. Pu’uanahulu is known for it’s cowboy ranching community, and just outside the ranch are the corrals and stables where the local folks have their rodeos and horse-activities.

The amenities at Puu Lani Ranch are unlike any other gated community on the Big Island. From the time you enter the manicured landscaped driveway, you get a sense of the quality lifestyle that is lived here.

Lucky horses get to play in this picturesque area of the community, while spectators enjoy the views from the watchtower lanai and rooftop lanai of the Puu Lani Ranch meeting/fitness room building.

The Open Corral

Watch your favorite equestrian play or work in this open corral with a smaller holding pen on one side and paddocks on the other.

The Stables

Stables are available for rent, separate from maintenance fees.

Maintenance fees include:

  • Common area maintenance
  • Use of the tennis courts
  • Basketball
  • Corral
  • Fitness room
  • Meeting rooms
  • Watchtower
  • Riding trails
  • Gate maintenance
  • And more!

The Paddocks and Watchtower

Paddocks are also available for rent. Horses have lots of space to run around and play.

Entertain and view events from the watchtower at Puu Lani Ranch (pictured below). There is a watchtower lanai and rooftop lanai for large gatherings.

The Fitness Room

The fitness room was redone so all could enjoy the owner-donated equipment. Now more people can enjoy this area like their own gym, along with meeting rooms that can be used for yoga and other exercise classes.

The Puu Lani Ranch Clubhouse

The Puu Lani Ranch Clubhouse is an elegant building, fully equipped to hold weddings, large parties, private meetings, and so much more! Complete with commercial kitchen, fireplace, bar, TV, restrooms, tasteful furnishings and a lodge-type feeling of exclusive comfort!

The BBQ area overlooks other outdoor activities and also has easy access from the kitchen and outside dining area lanai.

Athletic Courts

One of the tennis courts was converted to a basketball court so more families could enjoy. Vacation renters can also enjoy the amenities, as everyone leaves things in better shape then when they arrived for continued use.

Spectators can enjoy so many places to view their favorite sport. The weather and elevation are nice and cool, so sitting outside is a pleasure!

The Setting

During the spring, the Jacoranda in the area are blooming…a breathtaking sight to see, even the debris is beautiful!

Take walks on the spacious roadways, and enjoy picturesque views of Pu’uwa’awa’a, lots of space, no streetlights so you can enjoy starry nights, and wonderful breezes.

Historic mountainsides make Puu Lani Ranch a desirable community. The energy of the place is very healing, and your lifestyle will be more relaxed and enjoyable with lots of space to enjoy your peace of mind.

I look forward to seeing you at Puu Lani Ranch! Please keep in touch anytime I can show you around!

Blessings & Warmest Aloha~

Great photos, Claire! To clarify for those of you reading this who really are horse people, the “open corral” is of course a riding arena and the “holding pen” is a round pen for your liberty work.

What are the fees for boarding a horse in the barn and also in the corrals?
What are the property taxes on the houses listed currently?

Aloha Nora! Puu Lani Ranch Stable boarding fees are approx. $167/month, and I believe that includes corral use, but I’m double-checking with Pacifica Management – Susan Ganz at 808-334-1610. Property Taxes may average $2,943 for a 2565sf home with a Owner-Occupant – Homeowners Exemption. Taxes will vary according to your occupancy classification, and homeowner’s exemption amount. Let me know if you need more details on the exemption qualifications, and I will get back with you as soon as I hear back from Susan on the corral usage fee [if any]. Mahalo for our questions!

Aloha Nora! Just confirmed with Greg the Maintenance Manager at Puu Lani Ranch, the $167/month includes Stable boarding fee and Paddock use. Hope this helps! Give me a call if you have more questions, or if you’d like to see a list of homes available for sale at Puu Lani Ranch. There’s a 3BD/3BA home that just came on the market today at $380,000.
