Big Island

A New Hawaii Agency and the Road to Excellence

Have you ever chosen a course with little effort, which took you exactly where you were destined to be?

I found just that road this summer, when I merged CP Kona Realty with one of Hawaii’s newest agencies, Hawaii Life Real Estate Services, LLC. After learning of their commitment to client service, their dedication to professionalism and ethics, and their unparalleled support systems and tools, the decision to join them was a no-brainer. Taking that first step just felt right.

Joining Hawaii Life was the gateway to my personal road to excellence. All my life’s experiences and knowledge brought me to the Big Island, and a new career in real estate.

Within four years of moving here, I opened my own brokerage. I had three to six agents working for me, specializing in Buyer Representation for clients purchasing land, homes, and condominiums along the Kona coast. Ethical business practices and a penchant for client service kept my small office in the top 25% of sales for most of the years CP Kona Realty was in business.

In addition, I offered my time as a Director and Officer on the Kamani Trees Homes Association Board of Directors where I live. I currently serve as the Board President and Treasurer. I also worked as a volunteer for the West Hawaii Association of Realtors, first on committees, and then as the Treasurer-Elect (2007), Treasurer (2008), President-Elect (2009), President (2010) and currently the Past President (2011).

These roles led to several positions with the Hawaii Association of Realtors at the state level, including Board Director, and work on the committees for Government Affairs, Strategic Planning, and Issues Mobilization.

My business success and my roles on various Boards have one thing in common; I would not have been able to accomplish them if honesty, integrity, and dependability were not primary tenets in my life, and if my quest for excellence in all I do were not my life’s goal.

I moved to Hawaii in 1998, with my wife, who is also named Charli, from Olathe, Kansas. Back in Kansas, we call these tenets “good old mid-western values.” They have served me well.

It is now my honor to serve as the Broker-In-Charge for Hawaii Life’s new office in Kailua-Kona. I am glad to still oversee all the agents from CP Kona Realty who joined Hawaii Life with me. I also assist in training and support for agents assigned to the Puako office.

An amazing feature of this company is that every individual is part of one team encompassing all Hawaii Life Real Estate Services, LLC, agents on all of the Islands, including Kauai, Maui, Oahu, and Hawaii. The collective knowledge of all of our Brokers and Agents is instantly available to assist our clients in their real estate transactions.

Hawaii Life grows my transaction capacity with more support, more cutting-edge technology, and more tools to directly aid clients. I am particularly impressed with listing tools that maximize exposure for listed properties, and the paperless transaction systems that reduce the hassles of fax, scan, and mail systems, while reducing our environmental impact.

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join Hawaii Life Real Estate Services, LLC, and I’m enjoying the journey to excellence, sharing this commitment with so many other real estate professionals. I am excited to be in a position to help others lead a “Hawaii Life” and to be able to offer my clients properties like this secluded oceanfront house in Keauhou, just down the road from the Hawaii Life office at the Kona Inn Shopping Village.

Reduced  $196K, (MLS# 217717) is the oceanfront property closest to Kahalu’u Beach!

Congratulations Charlie. Wishing you success and happiness with your new company.
I have opened my own brokerage for now. Until I decide which direction is right for me, I am lying low!

I’m sure I will see you out and about this coming year.

Happy Holidays.

Aloha Charlie… I guess it’s a testament to how hard we’re working right now that it’s taken me this long to find a moment to “officially” welcome you to Hawaii Life! You have already brought me so much support personally, I cannot remember what my BIC life was like “pre-Charile!” Thanks for being a good sport, and for the flexibility of mind and spirit you bring to the table. I love your dedication to our craft, to our ethics and to making both Hawaii Life and the Realtor Profession the best that they can be! Thanks Charlie, welcome aboard and buckle your seatbelt… we’re off!
