Big Island

New Construction Home in Wainani Estates – Big Island, Hawaii (Part 3)

We’re getting to the good stuff now! Interior finishes. No spoiler alert here. I’ll give you a few sneak peeks at things, but like any good real estate TV show, I want to keep the element of surprise for the big reveal.

For those of you who have been following this custom home build, this blog will be the last update to the project before we release the final and finished project. If you are coming to this blog for the first time and want to catch up on the progress of this custom built home from the very beginning of construction, read Part 1 and Part 2.

Design Inspiration

As I mentioned in a previous blog, Hawaii-based developer Blue, White & Gold selected the high end Chicago-based design firm Drake Interiors to consult with on the finishes. By looking at the work that this partnership has created so far, they are blending the best of modern elegance with practical design elements to help you live and enjoy a comfortable and contemporary home in Hawaii.

In the finish materials displayed above, you see the quartz countertop selection along with the flooring and a lighting selection. The pebbles on the bottom right will be featured in the master shower. The overall feel of the home will blend warm and cool tones that are indicative of our lifestyle here in Hawaii, where we enjoy our warm Hawaiian days, then come to our comfortable home to cool off.

The photo above is a close up of the Acaia wood flooring that you will find through the entire home, with the exception of the bathrooms. This photo was taken just a couple of hours before sunset. As you can see, sun really brings out all of the natural beauty of the wood. Looks even better in person!

Stay Tuned

So, we’re just a couple of weeks away from the finished product. Stay tuned for the last and final installment of this blog series where we do the big reveal. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with an exterior shot of the soon-to-be-finished home that hopefully won’t give too much away. A hui hou!
