Maui Weekly What’s Happening – August 19, 2022

Happy Aloha Friday!  We’re seeing things slow down a bit on island as everyone settles into their school schedules and day-to-day routines.  Today, school is closed in observance of Statehood Day for our first long weekend of the school year. While we don’t have much in the way of events happening on Maui this weekend, we do have one of the biggest fundraisers in the state taking place this weekend. Additionally, I will share some ongoing events on Maui.

Maui County Charity Walk

The Maui Hotel and Lodging Association hosts one of the largest single-day fundraisers in Hawaii this Saturday, August 20th. Funds raised support our local non-profits and charities. Last year, the walk raised $1.2 million and the goal for this year is $1.4 million. Meet and start at War Memorial Sports Complex.  Registration begins at 6:30 am. Walk begins at 7:15 am followed by breakfast, entertainment and prizes from 8:15 am – 10:00 am.
