Maui Weekend Events – Oct 6

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui brings you some great live music options, theater and MIL football games. The 16th Annual Ukulele Festival takes place this Sunday afternoon. Additionally, Saturday evening, Rabbitt plays the Shops at Wailea. For theater, Rocky Horror Show opens this weekend and runs through Halloween night. And finally, MIL Football games both Saturday and Sunday nights this weekend and 8 Man games taking place Saturday morning.

The MACC’s Maui Wildfires Benefit Series

The MACC put on a series to support the community after the wildfires. This weekend is the final event of the series. The feature is The 16th Annual Ukulele Festival. Event takes place Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm. Gates open at 2:30 pm. This is a free event. The current exhibit in the MACC’s Schaefer International Gallery will be open from 3:00 – 7:00 pm for Festival attendees.

Get there early for a free ukulele workshop in the MACC’s Morgado Hall. Workshop led by ukulele master Roy Sakuma. Workshop starts at 11:00 am and registration begins at 10:30 am.

This event will be a collecting location for the Maui Food Bank during the day. Please bring needed items for those impacted by the wildfires. Donation bins will be located near the MACC’s main entry gates.

Right now, priority items are diapers (baby and adult) and personal hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, etc.

Jazz at the Shops – Rabbitt

Maui’s own leading lady of R&B is playing this Saturday evening at the Shops at Wailea for their Jazz at the Shops series. Rabbitt is performing from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. She has released two albums. Her music is upbeat, fluid and smooth yet bold chill beats. Check out this sampler from her latest album, Chapters.

The Rocky Horror Show at The Historic Iao Theater

The Rocky Horror Show is back at the Historic Iao Theater. The show celebrates its 50thanniversary this year. The show opens this weekend and runs through October. Showtimes every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Halloween night. Showtimes are 7:30 pm Fridays and Saturdays and Halloween night and 3:00 pm on Sundays.

MIL Sports

It is week 7 of the MIL football season. Friday’s game is Baldwin at King Kekaulike. Saturday’s game is Maui High vs. Lahainaluna in Lahaina. First home game for Lahainaluna. Game start is 7:00 pm for both games.

For 8-Man Football, we have Seabury at Lanai. Game start is 10:00 am. Molokai plays Hana at Hana. Game start at 10:30 am. Both games take place Saturday morning.
