Getting to Know Keauhou on the Big Island in a New Way

I signed on with Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers in January of 2011. The model for their business was different and I knew that, as it was what attracted me. One thing they suggest their Agents/Brokers do is blog. I had not yet done so, and I have made this such a big deal!!

I have asked everyone what they blog about and, of course, I got a different answer from everyone I asked. I was told to make it personal. Placing pictures within the blog was encouraged, and “they” said to be creative. So, here it goes.

My exercise, which includes walking, is personal to me. I walk a lot and I get to know areas fairly well by doing this. I am going to share Keauhou living and what I learn along the way, and also keep you updated on the current real estate market in Keauhou.

I have always liked Keauhou. The weather, location, and views are outstanding. I have worked in Keauhou for many years. I have lived in Keauhou. I now walk in Keauhou. People that walk daily recognize each other and comment on changes. I notice changes in properties that I pass along the way. I notice what the golf course is doing on any given day. It is more personal to me. Keauhou seems to be that way; personal, yet privacy is respected.

I start at the Keauhou Shopping Center and head toward the ocean. Whichever direction I choose, I am sure to get great views and at least 3 to 4 miles of combined terrain; level, well-graded sidewalks and hills, so the workout is especially great as well as safe.

The Keauhou Shopping Center, which seems to be the centerpiece of the Keauhou area, offers a bit of everything to this busy and diverse community.

There is a brief history of the area, a directory and mall map, a description of all businesses in the shopping center, as well as upcoming events and weekly happenings. There are two outstanding hotels close by offering commanding ocean views.

There are also condo complexes, subdivisions, timeshares, 2 championship golf courses, a beach park, cultural center, as well as historical sites that offer a look into the rich and dramatic past of this area. And the shopping center sits amongst it all.

Keauhou Shopping Center seems to appreciate its community and the community seems to return the favor in an enthusiastic and loyal way. For additional information visit: Keauhou Shopping Center and Keauhou Resort.
