5 Things To Do In Holualoa

Nestled along the slopes of Hualalai Mountain, you’ll find a quaint little village called Holualoa Town. Colorful plantation-style buildings are dotted along the winding road that takes you from the beachy Kona Coastline right into lush tropical rain forests bursting with colorful flowers and fruit trees. This is the perfect place to stop and wander for a while!

I love escaping to Holualoa (aka Artist Village) because it’s a little slice of heaven. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend taking a drive to visit some of these special spots. It’s only 10 minutes from Kailua-Kona.

1. Visit an Art Gallery

I love to wander into the M. Fields Gallery. Mike Field is an incredible artist. His inspiration comes from the Polynesian lifestyle. Whether you get ‘lost’ in a painting of Island landscapes or the ocean, there is art that speaks to your soul to be found here! Don’t miss every First Friday of the Month where the town comes alive with live music, shopping, food, and fun!

2. Stop for Lunch at Holuakoa Gardens and Cafe

Sourced from their very own organic gardens, this farm to table Gourmet Cafe and Restaurant does not disappoint! Seating is spaced through luxurious outdoor lanai’s so you can linger over their outstanding dishes and don’t miss their Sunday brunch as you listen to bird songs that fill the surrounding trees.

3. Stroll and Shop Through Town

Wander across the street from Holuakoa Cafe to Coco+Lita, Holualoa’s premier fashion boutique inspired by travel and contemporary eclectic vibes. Always stocked with the latest one-off fashions and eye-catching looks. Pick out the perfect vacation look, complete with bohemian jewelry and accessories from local Big Island makers and creators.

4. Schedule a Coffee Tour

World-class Kona coffee tastings are at the heart of Holualoa. Coffee farms are scattered along the Westerly slopes of Hualalai Mountain. The aroma of roasting coffee is always in the air! Brazen Hazen is one of my favorite cups of Kona Coffee. You can sign up for their fresh brew club and have Kona Coffee delivered right to your door.  It’s worth scheduling a tasting and plantation tour with Hula Daddy known for its award-winning gourmet Kona coffee.

5. Take a Real Estate Tour

This secluded estate is located in the heart of Holualoa! Situated in the world-famous Kona Coffee Belt, you can marvel at almost ten acres of emerald green and the ocean beyond! This home is going to auction and selling to the highest bidder on March 3-6. This is a remarkable auction opportunity. Originally offered at $5,580,000.

Time truly stands still in Holualoa. You can learn more about Holualoa and other real estate opportunities at www.Carrie-Nicholson.com
