COVID19 UPDATE

Why Move to Hawaii?

The events of 2020 surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic have certainly taught us numerous lessons. Even though the infections are soaring around the globe and the US mainland, Hawaii has been relatively low thus far. Lower pertaining to positive cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Obviously one sick person, hospitalization, or death is one too many, but overall Hawaii has maintained lower numbers. This has been done in part to restricting tourism, social distancing, and of course wearing masks. This is all at a cost to the economy and none of it was a welcomed by-product.

No Better Place Than Hawaii

When I think about the big cities I have lived in — Chicago, Miami, and Denver — I can’t think of any place I would rather be than here in Hawaii during this crisis. This event has also taught us all in part that we don’t really have to be physically everywhere all the time. We do have the ability to do some work, learning and communicating from home. I am certainly not happy that any of this has happened and has disrupted everyone’s life in some way or another, but it does give you a minute to ponder what we were doing and where were living prior. The point being, if you now have a chance to change the narrative and move, what could be better than living in Hawaii?

Hawaii’s Great Outdoors

Hawaii has warm weather, cool trade wind breezes, and the most beautiful scenery in the world. The outdoor life is unparalleled. You have biking, hiking, running, water sports and of course the beaches. These are all free activities and open to everyone. The trade-off of concrete and steel to green space, blue skies, and vast oceans is a no brainer.

As a small golf course GM in Texas, with 2 kids soon to be off to college, and a mortgage paid off with a NP wife, my only personal desire left on Earth is to live in Hawaii in the best possible home/condo I can afford.
I love all the Islands, but my wife only loves Oahu, which is also my favorite as Waikiki Beach is my favorite place on Earth.

I am still dreaming…..
