Wailea Elua Condos For Sale Near Ulua Beach in Wailea Maui

Wailea Elua condos for sale are situated in a timeless location on Ulua Beach, Wailea. When my wife, Laura, and I first moved to Maui in 1978, we would spend every weekend swimming, snorkeling, and tossing the Frisbee on a deserted Ulua and Mokapu Beach in Wailea, Maui.

A few condos had popped up in the new resort, Wailea Ekahi was built, there were two hotels—Stouffers and the Wailea Beach Hotel—and a few Wailea Elua units. The best part was the open beaches and clean warm water—all on the edge of civilization.

Many things have changed since that time. Three huge world-class resorts were added: The Four Seasons, Grand Wailea, and the Kea Lani. The infill of construction covered all of the open coastline to the south of Wailea Elua. The best part of the infill though is that it was all planned and the buildings were situated with the best exposure to the #1 asset, the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

Laura worked for Mind’s Eye Interiors at that time and I would help her as she bid furniture and finishings at the brand new Wailea Elua II being constructed in 1980. The beach was still the same, but the dunes were disappearing. We still enjoyed the beach a lot though as Jeremy had not yet arrived in our life and we had a lot of spare time to play.

Now we have come full circle. All three of our children are grown. Jeremy works with me at Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers, Brianna is a police officer on Lana’i, and Chloe is a sophomore in college. Laura would love to be able to spend weekends at the beach again and I can’t possibly think of a better place than Wailea Elua. (Be sure to check out this gallery as there are two listings here with Value Scores of 90 or higher, All Wailea Elua Condos For Sale.)

I just had the opportunity to view Wailea Elua unit #1703 on a recent broker’s tour. This ground floor unit sits front row center, surrounded by lawn on three sides, looking directly out to the beach, Molokini, Kahoolawe, and Lanai’i islands. It is no longer at the edge of civilization, which appeals to me a little more as I approach 60. The ground floor location can’t be beat, as someday stairs will be an impediment to mobility.

We are finally gaining some of our time back since the kids are grown. This is the spot Laura would live in every weekend and I would visit her after a day on the farm at Maliko Bay if we had an extra four million. The beaches have not changed, the water is still warm and beautiful. We still snorkel, swim, and walk on the beach, but now we have a new version of Frisbee, it is called stand-up paddling.

Come enjoy the best location in the world, Wailea Maui.
