Go Green With This Solar-Powered Waikoloa Home

This Sunset Ridge home (MLS# 238548) in the Waikoloa area features both solar water heating and solar electricity.

3 bed / 2 bath, newly listed solar-efficient home

The Sellers actually sell electricity back to Helco in winter months and have a bill of less than $50 per month in summer—even while running the A/C daily.

The home is furthermore beautifully landscaped and has a terrific ocean view. Fruit trees, including bananas and lemons, flourish in the backyard.

Dan and Marion – I must say this is one of the best houses I’ve seen in Sunset Ridge – the location and ocean views are outstanding. But the real deal is the landscaping and solar power… WOW is all I can say. These sellers have clearly LOVED their ‘aina in more ways than one, and certainly fit in with our commitment to sustainability as a company and a community. Clearly, a “best buy.”

Aloha Dan and Marion! – Yes, and what a great neighborhood Sunset Ridge is, too! It’s encouraging to know that homeowners in our thriving community of Waikoloa Village are stepping up to the plate. I love the idea that they are “choosing” to tap into the solar energy. Typically we hear about it when a property has no access to public utilities and has no other choice but to go alternative. There is even a “Green Smart Home” slated for construction and for sale in the upscale community of Kohala Ranch. Love the ‘aina is right on!
