At the Diamond Head end of Waikiki – where you can hear the lions and tigers, and elephants roar at sunset from the Waikiki Zoo – there are two recently listed condos in one of my favorite buildings, Diamond Head Vista:
- Unit #1904 – a 1 bedroom/1 bath with 758 sq.ft. interior is asking $489K
- Unit #3201 – a 2 bedroom/2 bath with 974 sq.ft. interior is listed at $880K

In the photo below, taken from Diamond Head Vista #1904, you will see how the building got its name. Though you cannot see it, the zoo is nestled there among the trees with Kapiolani Park and Gold Coast condos in the distance.

1717 Ala Wai Condo Deal
At the other end of Waikiki – 1717 Ala Wai – adjacent to the yacht harbors and Ala Moana Shopping Center, is a building that I think offers a lot for the price. Nicely upgraded, Unit #2710 is a 3 bedroom/2 bath with 1,130 sq.ft. interior and 100 sq.ft. lanai that is listed at $624K.
1717 Ala Wai #2710 (MLS# 1303019)
1717 Ala Wai is self-managed, built in 1970, and due for some plumbing and concrete repairs that are normal for a building this age. They have a great website for owners and the public where you can research the building further.
There are currently 6 other active listings in the building of 2 and 3 bedroom condos ranging in price from $420K to $859K that I have included in my Waikiki Condo Photo Gallery.
