Do you like mountain views? Lush green valleys? Is a large or custom home a consideration? An ocean view? There is a neighborhood in Hawaii Kai that has it all — Upper Hahaione Valley. Tucked between the Koolau Mountains and the sea, Upper Hahaione is a highly sought-after neighborhood located in the southeast shore community of Hawaii Kai.

You might be surprised to find such a green valley in sunny Hawaii Kai. Once you take the short drive up Hahaione Street, you’ll arrive at one of Hawaii Kai’s premier communities. There are large custom homes and also some very nice track homes, ranging from approximately $1.2 million to $1.7 million. Many homes are situated high on the verdant hillsides, so you can see the ocean. The mountain views are stunning and the cool breezes are amazing. During the rainy season, you might even spot some waterfalls cascading down the mountains.

Lifestyle in Hahione

Hahaione really is a beautiful valley — peaceful, too. Plus, it’s only minutes to the Hawaii Kai Towne Center and  Koko Marina Shopping Center. If you enjoy fine dining, there is a Roy’s Restaurant close by. There are lots of other fine eateries, too. If Italian food is your thing, check out Assagio’s. It’s the best! You might also enjoy Maile’s Thai Bistro, and Liko’s Tap and Table. World-famous Sandy Beach, Maunalua Bay, and Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve are within minutes, too. Residents who live in Upper Hahaione love the combination of convenience and tranquility this neighborhood offers.

If you are looking for a home in east Honolulu, you may want to check out this neighborhood. It’s a bit of a well-kept secret, but one I think is worth sharing with those who are looking for a special place to call home.
