Condos

Top Ten Reasons We Love Hale Royale in Honokowai, Maui

1. Local vibe: Most folks live and own their condos at Hale Royale and the so pride in ownership is clear. No vacation or short term rentals; no loud conversations next door about how many mai tais they downed at the Luau. Fewer car doors slamming! Yet you can rent out 6 months for good rates if you do need to leave the island.

2. Fantastic weather: Light rains in the mornings but sunny days. Breezy trade winds – no AC necessary. You can see why this was a choice spot for Hawaiian Royalty.

3. Well thought-out site plan: 5 buildings built in a semi-circle around lush, well-maintained grounds. Parking around the perimeter — keeps things quiet. Easy access parking, but you’re not looking at cars from your patio.

4. Great amenities: Fun pool area for kids and the family with dry sauna and Jacuzzi, upper pool good for laps, as well as tennis courts and basketball hoops. Recently upgraded the BBQ area.

5. Surf: Fun surf spot at S-turns; long left. Breaks in the fall and winter months. 20 minute drive to Honolua Bay.

6. Manager lives on site: Security and a 24-hour laundry room.

7. Location: Walking distance to the farmers’ market, health food store, and coffee shop and sandy beach park at Honokowai

8.Activities nearby:  Just a ten minute drive to world-class resorts, shopping, dining, golf, and spas.

9. Environment: Residents say they get the best sleep ever as evenings are cool with trade winds, and the property is peaceful and quiet.

10. It is Royal: Hale=House. Literally the Royal House… located in Honokowai, one of the royals’ favorite bays on the island. Hono means bay and added with Kowai apparently means the bays of fresh water or bays with wind on the waters.

When Chief Piilani the Great, the ruling Alii (Royal) of the Island, united the Island of Maui in the 1500s, he built connecting paths winding around the islands. These paths then became Honoapiilani Highway, connecting the Hono (bays) of Piilani. Streams would come down to each of these bays. You can still see rocks piled by the side of paths and roads in certain areas, for instance across the Pali. The six bays along the Lower Honoapi’ilani road from South to North are: Honokowai, Honokeana, Honokahua, Honolua, Honokohau, and Hononana; Chief Piilani’s favorite bays.

Welcome home to your Royal Home!
