Timbers Resort – Experiencing Kauai’s Newest Resort

Timbers Resort Kauai opened last June. As part of the International Resort Collection, it offers guests and owners a unique experience. The buildings are a beautiful example of modern architecture, and the designer finishes are stunning. I had the opportunity to have a “staycation” here last weekend, and I can’t wait to go back.

Great Location

The resort is centrally located in Lihue, just a short distance to the airport. It sits on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with world-class Hokuala golf course on one side, and infamous Kalapaki bay on the other side. There are trail systems throughout the master-planned development that are perfect for exploring and taking advantage of the bikes available on the property. We rode bikes to Nanini Lighthouse, and also to the Farm at Hokuala, which supplies the resort restaurant, Huluana, with amazingly fresh farm-to-table ingredients.

Accommodations

There are three different options for accommodations, all of which are spacious and well-equipped.

  • Kaiholo Residences – These 3 and 4 bedroom residences offer seamless indoor-outdoor living, with walls that open up completely to spacious lanais. With gorgeous views and ample square footage, you will feel right at home.
  • Maliula Residences – These 2 and 3 bedroom residences embody a peaceful; abode surrounded by nature. Views range from ocean to partial ocean and pool view. They feel ample in size and substantial in quality.
  • Laola Townhouses – Offering a more private setting, these 3 and 4 bedroom residences face east, overlooking the ocean and 15th green.  They have their own private swimming pools and carports.  Superior furnishings and appointments elevate the experience.

My family stayed in a Maliula Residence, which had more than enough room for our family of five. With a full-sized kitchen, living room and dining area, three and a half baths, laundry area and three lanais, we made ourselves right at home. I was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen and dining area equipped with spices, coffee, and a wide variety of glassware and barware options.

Activities

There are multiple pools, including an infinity edge pool overlooking Ninini Lighthouse. A family-friendly pool has a kids plunge zone, and a bridge that my kids loved jumping off of. Near the pool is a kids playroom that was also an added bonus. It was equipped with toys and activities for kids ranging from toddler to tween, including board games, a chalkboard for drawing, bubbles, and a large screen tv with bean bag loungers. There is also a well-equipped fitness center, locker room, and adjoining spa. There were plenty of things to keep us busy, though I have to admit the highlight of the trip was riding bikes. We watched sunsets from the community grill and lingered around the fire pits. This was a memorable staycation, and I have been to many resorts on Kauai. I will definitely be going back to Timbers Resort.

Live at Timbers Resort

While you can visit and stay at Timbers Resort, you can also live here full time! If you enjoy relaxing in a home that takes care of you, then ownership at Timbers Resort may be a good option for you. With 1/12th share of residences starting out at $385,000, and full ownership opportunities starting at $2,840,000, these homes deliver on value and amenities. Deeded ownership includes opportunities to stay at other luxury resorts in the collection around the world, including Aspen, Tuscany, Maui, and Scottsdale. Unlike a traditional timeshare, these legacy properties have room for future equity and resale value.

Looks inviting. How many days does a 1/12 ownership include?

Hi Mary!

Yes, I agree, it is a very inviting place. 1/12 ownership includes 3 planned weeks every year, and unlimited space-available and short-notice weeks, which can add a lot. It is a very flexible program. I hope to visit some of the other properties in the collection soon!

Aloha,
Brenna
