The Orchid Lady

I’ve been called the “Orchid Lady.” I suppose it’s fitting because I’ve been raising orchids a long time. Over 30 years!

I love orchids. Why? The variety of species, their delicate nature, and their simple beauty fill me with joy!

The Hawaii climate is perfect for propagating a large variety of orchids. My favorites are the large Cattleya’s.  They come in all colors. Sizes. They are simply breathtaking.

Another favorite is the Phalaenopsis orchid. They are easy to grow and the flowers last a long time. Even months.

It takes loving care to raise and nurture orchids. Dedication. I’ve learned a lot along the way – from planting, re-potting, watering, cutting, fertilizing, and spraying. Mostly, I’ve learned that the more time and effort I invest, the greater the return. In fact, one of my greatest returns was having an orchid named after me by the London Orchid Society. The Deanna!

Are you interested in learning more about orchids? If so, consider joining the Orchid Society. There are many throughout the islands. From novice to Orchidist, there is room for you!

Deanna,
What a wonderful article on orchids. Having an orchid named after you is a very great honor. It shows your love and caring nature, as the Orchid Lady and as a wonderful real estate agent. I am so proud to call you a very special friend.

Aloha and Hugs,
Ginger
