The other night I had the pleasure of attending Blue Startups‘ Founders Mixer event at the Real Office Centers collaborative workspace in Chinatown. The event was a social gathering to recruit local tech talent to the acclaimed tech accelerator’s next 14-week program titled Cohort 9.
Blue Startups’ Founders Mixer event
This program is used as a catalyst to propel companies to the next level of their growth cycle. Blue Startups takes a small stake in the company, usually 3-10%, in exchange for a seed investment of $25,000 to get the company moving. After the seed round, Blue Startups will consider further investing up to $75,000 depending on the company. The accelerator also provides workspace where teams can create and collaborate, professional mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs, and business development.
I’m excited to see what else comes from this institution!
After the program is complete, teams will have the opportunity to pitch investors for more funding to drive their company forward. This truly is the future of our tech ecosystem in Hawaii and I’m excited to see what else comes from this institution!
