Talk Story #40 – Prime Kaka’ako and its Multi-Dimensional Development Vision

Oceanfronted Kaka'ako central

In my ‘Talk Story’ series, I often mention “Kaka’ako” – and there is good reason why! It has been, and is, one of the most discussed neighborhoods in a totally prime area with an exciting future!

It’s located along the ocean (makai) and inland (mauka) bordering the city of Honolulu, next to Ala Moana Beach Park, and continues along the curve to world renown Waikiki.

Kaka’ako’s History

In 1976, the Kaka’ako Hawaii Community Development Authority became a state project. Large land owners and developers set about designing, discussing, dreaming, and planning what to do with this superb location.

The sky was the limit (almost literally), but although there have indeed been a multitude of luxury high rise condominiums built…serious efforts continue to be discussed, proposals turned down, and other ideas brought forth, trying to keep this whole area a wonderful mixed use neighborhood for all to enjoy, living in harmony with a vision of diverse and modern housing opportunities and continued commercial activity.

For Investors and Future Homeowners

Now is the time for considering this prime area of change and growth. Resales and Developer sales are available in the high rise condos currently in the area. A brand new offering (and quickly selling out) is the ‘Waihonua‘ condominium joining the other striking luxury high rise properties nearby. Construction will start this year and eagerly awaited.

Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers and I are here to assist you in finding a perfect location. I personally made that decision and happily live here! Contact me for individualized galleries of MLS based information regarding some wonderful opportunities. Let’s ‘Talk Story’ over what you are wanting or needing.

Click into several of my other articles, which have primarily focused on Kaka’ako’s variety of condominiums with their close proximity to great ocean and beach activities, major shopping, theatre and concerts, medical facilities, churches – all within walking distance or practically ‘stop at your door’ bus service to anywhere on the island. I suggest Talk Story #3, 4, 26, 29, 30, 32 or 33.

This is a ‘lifestyle’ within a prime area, moving steadily toward the ‘future’. Great opportunities await, it can be yours to enjoy!

Warm Aloha,
