Puamana, Maui 2019 Action
Since my last report, the real estate market has been holding steady while the surf has been pumping! Puamana has been getting hit with fun South swells for weeks. A couple of days the surf was so big, it closed out with giant walls of white water from Puamana Pools all the way to Puamana Beach Park — fun days for body boarding!

Spring Ocean Report
The weather has been spectacular this Spring in Puamana, but the South Swells have brought the rocks back into our beach although the sand is starting to fill in, especially on the South side of the property.
Some days in Puamana, waves are small and better suited for cruising on a longboard.
…other days, you just gotta get a little crazy! South swell 2019 Puamana

Before You Come to Puamana…
Think about how we can make better choices! There is a ban on plastic bags and styrofoam on Maui. Let’s buy local products and protect our Aina. The number one thing everyone can do to help is to avoid single-use plastic water bottles or soda bottles. The tap water is fine to drink — it comes from the rainforest in the mountains right above Lahaina. Most condos will have a water filter on the refrigerator or one of those filtered water pitchers and re-usable water bottles at your disposal. Please be aware of this and avoid the packs of bottled plastic water and Gatorade at Costco… Contrary to what everyone wants you to believe, Maui does not have a plastic bottle recycling facility and the trash does not get shipped off the island so the bottles go straight into our landfill or possibly dumped in the ocean. We just don’t know. While you’re still reading: let’s avoid plastic trash bags, plastic straws, zip-lock baggies and plastic beach toys and plastic floaty-noodles. All that stuff is probably already provided for you at your vacation rental. More about trying to buy locally.
Please avoid the spray sunscreen as now that junk is illegal on our island because it kills the reefs. Consider the creams – most of sunscreen creams for babies is fine and inexpensive. If you need a super strong sunscreen and you have sensitive skin, consider the Shiseido brand – it’s a skin-colored, waterproof cream.
