Support Local During COVID-19 While Practicing Social-Distancing
While we’re still practicing social-distancing, the world does not stop. Now more than ever, it’s a great time to support local. Here are a few things you can do to support local during this time.
Delivery / Curbside Pick-Up – Local Eateries
Keep Hawaii Cooking
Central Pacific Bank is splitting the bill with you at participating restaurants offering takeout only or curbside pick up during this time. CPB’s Keep Hawaii Cooking, is teaming up with a ton of restaurants in the state. Some of my favorites: Pioneer Saloon, Imanas-Tei, Duke’s Waikiki. Click here for a complete list.
Farm to Car
Recently made available is a farm to car option. Order online from your favorite farmer’s market vendor and pick up curbside. Click here for more information.
Keiki and Plow
This farm, located in Hawaii Kai, is also offering curbside pickup. Their Power Greens basket includes: arugula, spring mix, swiss chard, kale, basil, sage, lemongrass. Visit their website for more info or click the eventbrite link here to place an order directly.
Shop Local (Online)
Drew Honda, owner of Sweet Enemy Clothing.
At this virtual age, many local shops also have websites. If you’re like me and many others going stir crazy in your home (and not being able to shop) – check out some of these awesome, local shops online!
Share, Like, Comment your Favorite Local Businesses
You don’t need to spend money or purchase anything to help out a local cause. Many local businesses have an Instagram or Facebook page. A simple like or comment on a post or page can go a long way. Or, just share their post or page on your own social media account with your friends or followers.
Let’s continue to work together (distantly) and use our common knowledge. Be safe!
