This is from NAR, National Association of REALTORS® annual report, and represents closed transactions, covering all types of home ownership, across the nation. There were three months of dips through May, and despite the recent uptake, June sales came in at 11% below June 2019’s.

NARs report on Residential Trends is spot on and well done (succinct, intelligible, useful). Most compelling is the over $1M primary house (not condo) purchases in June and July that reflect home owners desire to move into low density areas due to COVID-19 and all the health and social concerns of city or more congested living areas. Home owners are looking for ready-to-move-in homes and finding competitive bidding scenarios in larger cities’ suburbs.
