Just Sold Punahou Manor Condo in Makiki

When I walked into Punahou Manor with my client (let’s call him Marcus, to protect the names of the innocent) and his fiance for the first time, it was wonderful to see their eyes light up. This would be their future home (building pictured below) after they get married next week.

Now, just to be sure we are clear, “lighting up” is different in every client’s eyes, and this particular client is very thoughtful, doesn’t jump in right away, wants to be sure this is “the place,” weighing the pros and cons about each property very heavily. I’ve basically just described all my clients. However, Marcus doesn’t get all excited and showy about his feelings…it’s just a calm happiness that puts a sparkle in his usually serious eyes.

This two bedroom, one bath home he purchased is the equivalent to finding the Holy Grail, minus the holy. I was tasked to find a two bedroom with a washer and dryer inside the unit, in Makiki, under $400,000 – Marcus’ non-flexible items.

Also on the task list was: pet-friendly, cool, with a view, and quiet. My client, because of his love for this unit, compromised on the pet friendly (his poor fiance’s dog will have to continue living with her parents) and instead of a view of the ocean, he has a beautiful view of Makiki and the mountains.

What My Client Had to go Through to Get Here

  1. Approximately 4-5 months of avid searching
  2. A rejected offer on his “perfect” fixer upper property
  3. Overpriced listings sitting on the market, scared to put in a low offer

Everyone goes through this. We all find our “perfect” properties. My client is very happy in his Punahou Manor property and moving in as we speak. Congratulations, Marcus! I wish you the best of luck!
