Preparing for Home Ownership in Hawaii

I recently attended a home buyer preparation class with my adult daughter, sponsored by the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center. While there, I thought to myself, “Wow, every person that dreams of home ownership should attend a class like this.”

The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping perspective first-time home buyers to realize their dream of home ownership.

Topics covered include:

• how to set financial goals
• how to manage your money and save
• understanding credit
• getting a mortgage/loan
• shopping for a home

Some Federal, State, and/or County programs require a home buyer’s certificate, and this class will provide it to you upon completion. The membership fee for this program is being waived while subsidies last.
