The Benefits of Living in Poipu – South Shore Shopping and Kauai’s Spouting Horn

Each year we welcome visitors from all over the world to the resort community of Poipu. Poipu is often the choice of visitors coming to Kauai because of its low annual rainfall – providing more sunny days than other parts of the island. With nearly perfect year-round weather, it’s no wonder that people fall in love with Poipu. Poipu, Kauai is famous for its weather, beaches, shopping, and Spouting Horn.

Poipu Shopping

Shopping choices are plentiful in Old Koloa Town, the Poipu Shopping Village, and the new Kukuiuula Shopping Center. These centers are packed with a variety of shops offering groceries, gifts, beach needs, and of course, places to eat. Some of Kauai’s best restaurants are found right here in Poipu!

Kauai’s Spouting Horn

Nature has blessed Poipu with natural beauty in its landscape and beaches. One of the attractions that draws people is nature-made Spouting Horn. The force of the ocean shoots water up as high as 50 feet in the air.

And of course, in addition to the nature beauty of Spouting Horn, people are always drawn to the gift shops that line the walk way. These store keepers offer a selection of gift items, fresh water pearl jewelry, 14K gold, hand-made Hawaiian fabric totes, potato bags, aprons, carved wood and bronze castings, and a little bit of everything thing – all at especially great prices! You can’t buy genuine fresh water pearls anywhere at the prices offered here. So on your next trip to Poipu, stop and enjoy all that Poipu has to offer – there’s something here for everyone.

Po’ipu is a wonderful destination with much to do and don’t forget Po’ipu Beach was once named the “Best Beach in Hawai’i”, by Dr. Beach. I love how our little island of Kaua’i provides diverse climates, landscapes, and experiences for kama’aina (residents) and malihini (visitors) alike. Lucky we live Kaua’i!
