Even before the ban, I would always be in the checkout line and say, â€œShoots! (or something like that) I left my bag at home!â€ Maybe now it will be easier for me to remember. I have loaded my car with reusable, heavy-duty bags, so now I am prepared. A post-it on my steering wheel wouldnâ€™t be a bad idea either.
As of January 11, 2011, the County of Kauai prohibited the distribution of plastic bags in an effort to preserve our beautiful island. The law applies to all retail businesses. So, donâ€™t forget to put your reusable bags in the car, or some convenient location so you can do your part in waste reduction.
