The roads are built, the lights are on, and the much anticipated Hoakalei Country Club‘s new clubhouse is now open. For years the area and neighborhoods surrounding the Hoakalei developments have seen the beautiful and private surrounding Ernie Els golf course that runs through the center of the development. The course has always been ranked as one of the most beautiful and challenging courses on the island of Oahu. The one thing that this fantastic golf course was lacking was an equally fabulous clubhouse.
For years the golfers and members of this private country club have endured a makeshift pro shop, clubhouse, and dining area under a tarp. It was excellent for a drink after a round of golf but was certainly not on par with the course or the development. Well, that has all changed with the newly built and opened clubhouse at Hoakalei Country Club. The new digs will open this weekend and feature a large parking lot, grand front entrance, locker rooms, a brand new restaurant, pool, and poolside bar and dining. The much-anticipated restaurant will be called reflections and is being run by a few top chefs from Japan.
If you have been a member of the club in years past, this new addition is well overdue. For the residents in the Hoakalei communities, they are offering a social or food and beverage membership for a limited time. Once the word gets out about what has been hidden behind the guard gate, I am sure the memberships will sell out and close. These are being offered with a one-time low membership fee and a monthly due attached with a quarterly food and beverage spend. Even if you are not an avid golf member, the club sure looks to have all the bells and whistles one would expect from such a high-end course and development.
This is the second attraction to open behind the gates, and the first is the Hoakalei HOA communities of Kipuka and Kuapapa’s Wai Kai Lagoons. This is primarily funded by the two HOAs and an option to pay for use in the Kamakana HOA. Once done with the opening, they will be moving on to build the luxury retail component surrounding the lagoons.

Called 853-4347 T. Griffin shown on mailer showing the 2 chefs for Reflections. Waited 6 minutes and listened to a dozen recording saying I was the first in the queue. Then a message came on to say leave a message. I was trying to call to see what is the Dining membership fee. The websites all have various information and various memberships The mailer received doesn’t show cost.. Only the Ocean Pointe newsletter and one website said $325 a mo.!? Another website says reserve for May only and join membership for dining and get dining credit. What is the fee for only non-golfing, OP residents dining membership. Its not disclosed on 4 sites I visited. Not clear if one can go to clubhouse or not, very confusing. Why is income information being asked, as well.

The club has just gotten opened up and they seem to be a bit short staffed. The person who is handling the memberships is Trisha Griffin and her email is tgriffin@hoakaleicountryclub.com she is the one that can help explain fees and costs.
