Keauhou is enriched with Hawaiian history, like the Burial Grounds and the Battle of Kuamoo site. This is where “the ancient religion died in a blaze of musket fire.” A battle erupted and about 300 people lost their lives. When viewing the lava rock it is sure to give you a good case of “chicken skin.” Kamehameha III was born nearby at Keauhou Bay.
