The Neighborhood

Downtown Honolulu is one of the islands’ oldest yet most vibrant and eclectic communities, with everything you could need or desire at your fingertips. Ten minutes from the airport and with essential services such as the postal service, government offices and the state’s best medical facilities to boutique shopping by indie designers, thrift stores, small bookshops, arts venues and galleries, there’s zero chance of boredom. Foodies will be delighted by dozens of pubs, bars, and casual and fine dining opportunities, ranging from James Beard award-winning restaurants to beloved pizza hangouts to trendy watering holes. Plans also include adding more retail and restaurants on the street level of Modea itself. A few blocks away, Chinatown offers its farmers markets, rich culture and tasty mom-and-pop restaurants. Also nearby is Aloha Tower Marketplace, and only slightly farther afield are Ward Village shops and restaurants and Ala Moana Center. Many schools are in the area and Hawaii Pacific University is a mere 2 minutes away.

Sustainable by Nature

The greenest form of construction involves an existing building. Modea will be an adaptive reuse of an existing high-rise building, meaning less landfill debris, material waste, fossil fuel use, and atmospheric carbon release than a new greenfield development. Because concrete curing is a major cause of carbon emissions, retaining the structural elements will prevent thousands of tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

I am interested in the one bedroom (600+sq,) ones. What will the HOA fees be for the one bedroom? Insurance and property tax? Your information will greatly be appreciated.
