Maui’s Kihei to Lahaina: World’s Most Beautiful Drive?

Some would say that the road from Kihei to Lahaina in Maui is the world’s most beautiful drive. Even if you disagree, easy access to such stunning views remind me of the reason why I moved to Maui 10 years ago….

Somehow we manage to put up with the afternoon work drive on Maui….

Rushing to an appointment to show Lahaina’s new residential condo project, Opukea, the other day, I found myself first dreading the 45 minute drive to the “other side”—then I rolled down all the windows, amped the stereo up a notch, and soon remembered why I moved here in the first place.

With my humble apologies to my former fellow city dwellers, here are a few random photos, taken on the fly out the window, of what I had to endure on the drive.

By the way, Opukea is new construction with seven active listings (two 2-bedrooms, five 3-bedrooms). Around $400K for the 2-bedrooms (1269 sf), $415-425 for the 3-bedrooms (1373 sf). One of 7 listings:  MLS# 342816

If you’d like to spend a little less time in your vehicle, and make it quality time, contact me and I’ll give you an overview of what’s listed and what’s selling.

A little south swell bump….

Dry on this day, but the area will transform to brilliant green with the first rain…West Maui mountains in the background

Some were luckier than I on this day….
