Mahalo Nui For An Amazing 2011

Mahalo nui for an amazing 2011. I’m blown away at what we’ve accomplished, and how much everyone has contributed to the meteoric rise of this locally-owned, homegrown, non-franchised company. By every measure, we’ve succeeded in surprising the entire industry (perhaps even ourselves) in 2011…
  1. We helped over 1000 people buy or sell property in Hawaii (at last count, we did 500 transactions this year, so I’m acknowledging us all for helping the other side of the transaction, too, as we do…).
  2. We contributed to dozens of local and national causes, both publicly and anonymously. Schools, The American Heart Association, The Paia Youth and Cultural Center, The Hanalei Watershed Hui, The American Cancer Society, Habitat For Humanity, and more…
  3. We welcomed some of Hawaii’s top-selling brokers and agents into the company all over the State, a huge acknowledgement to all of us, and a great opportunity to continue to show how marketing and representation of real estate in Hawaii should be done.
  4. We have two Board Presidents, 3 Hawaii Association of Realtors Board Members, another Leadership Academy Graduate, a ton of local and state level volunteers, and several salespeople who passed their brokers’ exams this year.
  5. We were nationally acknowledged by Inman News (again), as one of the most Innovative Brokerages in the company and for one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate.
  6. Oh, we more than doubled our 2010 sales volume. Our 2011 sales totaled over $320 million. Wow.

Thank you. I know this year wasn’t easy. In fact, there’s a lot we’d love to forget about. In the face of that, and the innumerable stupidities that we deal with in this industry, you’ve made Hawaii Life shine. We’re humbled, honored, and grateful.

Mahalo Nui Loa, and here’s to 2012,

Matt

PS Just so we’re all clear about the title of this post. We are also grateful to our mascot, Mr. Nui, (without whom very little of this would be possible).

What a pleasure to be the first to reply. I guess it all comes with being broker in charge for the New Year’s weekend. If today was any indication of what 2012 is going to be, look out ! I have had contracts , leads and listings pouring in all day. It is truly a breath of fresh air to be working with everybody at Hawaii Life ! I thought I was ready to hang it all up after 31 years in 2010 and now, I get up excited every day,

Jeremy Stice is slamming the deals down with me in the Stice Team along with Nancy White and Heidi Farmer working their specialties.

Kudos to the Sayles Team for waking up Wailea and putting Hawaii Life on the map big time. Go get ’em Dano, Tony, and Lucas ! Keep building the momentum.

A special Mahalo to hard working Kathleen Wilson, working so hard on those REO’s and Rustin Singleton for closing 8 web site leads and finally getting a listing.

I know all the Maui agents are setting their sites high this year. Ready to rock for 2012 !!

I welcome on board so many new faces to Maui, many with years of experience in the business. Some of you are really surprising me with your work ethic. This year , with a lot more tools in our belt, we will move a lot faster. Justin Britt and Winston are working a lot more magic with their crews behind the curtain than you would ever imagine.

Mahalo Hawaii Life for inviting me in to the family !!

Commander. It’s hard to find words to describe 2011 except “3G inverted loop!” It’s a good thing I like to ride with my hands in the air… Don’t worry, when I drive, it’s clearly with one hand on the wheel and another on the…let’s call it, the throttle??

Collectively, we have a whole bunch to be proud of – and from where I sit, we couldn’t have done it without your Leadership. Remember in Leadership Academy when we learned about the Law of the Lid? You continue to surprise, inspire and step ahead of me – and for that I am grateful.

“The higher you want to climb, the more you need leadership. The greater the impact you want to make, the greater your influence needs to be.” – John C. Maxwell, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.

Mahalo nui loa to you for all that you do, the hundreds of thousands of little things and “ceo tasks” that go virtually unseen, to the hundreds of amazing ways you continue to lead Hawaii Life forward challenging conventional real estate wisdom in the name of the people we serve – our clients, customers, vendors, community, agents and the ‘aina. I salute you.
