DR Horton’s newest development is more than just a cluster of new homes — Hoopili is a new community consisting of thousands of new homes including new elementary, middle, and high schools in addition to parks and recreational areas for its residents. There are townhomes and single family homes available for purchase with attractive price ranges.
There has been a heavy interest in the single family Homes! DR Horton used to have a “first come, first serve” policy, where an email would go out the day of release, and people would make their way down the to the sales office. There was such a huge demand and lack of homes released (about 8-10 homes per release) that people started to anticipate each release by camping out in line for as long as 2 days so that they could have the chance to choose a home. It was not pleasing to the neighbors around the sales center and something needed to be done.
As of September 22, 2017, DR Horton announced that they will be selling their single family homes (Haakea at Hoopili) on a “lottery based system.” This means that you fill out an application packet and drop it off with your prequalification letter from your lender and wait for each drawing. Releases in the past have happened about every 3-5 weeks, and I am optimistic it will continue in that manner.

Be sure to Google DR Horton Reviews before BUYING! Especially on Trulia, they are truly horrible reviews. They seems to have earned such hate, from using only the very cheapest materials to build homes with!
