Last year Karin Warganich and I listed and sold a rarely available Kuhina at Kahala listing. Due to the demand of such a rare product, we got multiple offers and a happy seller. Fast forward to today and another seller has decided to come on market $200,000 higher than where we sold.

2014 Seller’s Market Trending Upward
Although we got our client $100k more than previous sales, the 2014 seller’s market is still trending upward. It’ll be interesting to see what this goes for. It is a quality product and similar homes built by DR Horton can be seen in this project as well as other parts of Oahu, such as Hawaii Kai.

I wrote a follow up article last year comparing the same home and variation on cost depending on the proverbial real estate term of “location, location, location.” The catch is once you get in this mid $1 million range, you can start to look for older homes on larger lots in Kahala. Granted, a fixer upper and a yard to maintain is not for everyone. If you’re looking for something turn-key in a great location, this is it.
