Ossipoff Kona Oceanfront Condo

Hale Pohaku (House of Stone)

Vladimir Ossipoff design, Another Kona Oceanfront on Alii Drive

This Oceanfront Kona condominium (MLS# 232215) designed by the renowned Vladimir Ossipoff is offered for $849,000. I shot this particular photo (above) just as a tropical rain shower moved in from up Mauka. Good thing, because we need the rain as we are in a drought ending that has been stressing our coffee farmers!

Vladimir Ossipoff: Born in Russia November 25, 1907—residing in Hawaii for much of his life when he died in 1998. I find his life to be intriguing.

He grew up in Japan and graduated from UC Berkley in 1931 and went on to become an American architect famous for Hawaii Modern architecture. One of my favorites of his more famous homes is the Lilijestrandhouse an amazing Kama’aina style home on Oahu. I was honored to have a home just up the street listed about 6 months ago that he built for his daughter. It is a lovely and refreshing home from a simpler time and it is of Olde Hawaii. The sellers had second thoughts and decided to keep it, & I understand why.

Here in Kona, we are now offering a wonderful opportunity to own an oceanfront condominium in a 6 unit, luxury complex designed by Vladimir Ossipoff. It’s simple, clean concrete design & showcases his talent to capture the beauty of this amazing location and instill comfort by using trade winds to naturally cool all the rooms in this 1,161 sq foot luxury condominium. It is a must see for anyone shopping for Kama’aina (local) life style & classic design! Located right at surf , diving, fishing, canoeing and even golf is nearby. What is really special is that the Green sea turtles are often found sleeping at this beach in front of the condo! Tame as kittens!

Feel free to call me for more information on this special beachfront property.

Great information Heidi! I wasn’t aware of this project over there that he did. The Diamond Head Apartments was one he did here on Oahu. I’m adding it to my Mid-Century modern gallery, where I’ve got some of his homes listed in: http://www.hawaiilife.com/gallery/2775/
