Kohina is designed to be the gateway entrance to the master-planned community of Ho’opili. Transit-Oriented Development (TOD)
As a resident of Ho’opili, I could go on for days on what makes Ho’opili a great community, and how innovative D.R. Horton is as a builder. But let’s cut to the chase and get to the real excitement…Kohina! This is D.R. Horton’s 6th sub-community in Ho’opili, but definitely its most special and unique thus far! Kohina is West Oahu’s first TOD (transit-oriented development). It is located at the UH West Oahu transit station and will have residences, commercial, recreation, and transit all wrapped into one.
Projected over the next two and a half years, there will be approximately 276 multi-family homes to include studios, lofts, and one to four bedroom townhomes. There will be over 40-floor plans designed to fit anyone’s desires and needs. Kohina will also feature D.R. Horton’s acclaimed FLEX homes combining the live-work concept. There will also be commercial spaces throughout providing residents and rail riders the convenience of products and services being available right at their doorstep. A toddler play park and a dog park are both in the plans as well. As in previous communities, D.R. Horton will be offering affordable units coming up in future releases. Kohina will offer its residents the best of both worlds by being geared to an urban lifestyle while still maintaining that suburban feel that West Oahu is known for.

How Do I Make This Happen?
Like all D.R. Horton communities, Kohina is run via lottery. As I mentioned the first building instantly sold out! Next to come, featured in the second building to be released are two and three bedroom units ranging from mid $400s to mid $500s. Each building is unique and features different types of units.
