Kahuku Motocross Park: IRC Endurofest 2023

Dirt Bike Riding – Fun for the Whole Family

Kahuku Motocross Park on O’ahu is the perfect place for families and communities to enjoy time and grow stronger together. The park has a motocross track and also boasts trails for enduro-style riding. There is also a track for children.

The park offers opportunities for riders to hone their skills, get exercise, spend time with their community and also participate in racing from time to time. The perimeter trail is generally acceptable for the whole family to enjoy, while other parts of the park prove challenging for even the most accomplished riders.

AMA Hard Enduro: IRC Endurofest

The 2023 AMA Hard Enduro series included Haleiwa, O’ahu for the first time ever this year. The AMA US Hard Enduro series for 2023 is comprised of 10 rounds that start in January and run through the mid-year. They select from the most difficult terrain across the nation to host these 10 races.

Race Break Down

On the weekend of March 11th and 12th 2023 is when the IRC Endurofest took place in Kahuku. On the 11th is when the first two races were held. Both races were on the same track for this day. The first race in the morning was one lap and determined the racers starting positions for the afternoon race. The afternoon race was two laps and the top 100 racers qualified for the main on Sunday. 200 plus riders started out on the morning of Saturday to compete in the trails.

On Sunday the main event was held on a different track from the previous day, and it was, without a doubt, a much more difficult race.

Around 20 racers shipped bikes and flew over from the island of Kauai to participate in the race. Approximately 25 bikes were shipped in a container from the mainland for a mix of pro and amateur USHE racers.

Sunday only saw 29 of the top 100 riders complete the required two laps of the main event. Only 50 riders were able to make it to the first check. The other half of the riders did not even make it to the 1st check of the 14-mile course.

My husband was a participant of the race, and we also volunteered time to camp and guard the bikes shipped from the mainland before the race. Check out my video and channel to get a peek of the action; I linked Day 1 of the race in this blog and have a video of ‘Race Prep’ and ‘Race Day 2’ on my YouTube channel.
