Over the past 20-years, while selling real estate on Kauai, we have been fortunate to represent some of the most incredible, successful and creative clientele. Among them are well-known actors, artists, authors, and musicians who have found inspiration for their talents in the beauty and tranquility of the Island. As the greenest of the Hawaiian Islands, with 97-percent of it covered by forests and mountain ranges, Kauai also boasts some of the most dramatic landscapes in the world — majestic mountains laced with waterfalls, idyllic bays with perfect surf, the Waimea Canyon nicknamed the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, and the towering sea cliffs of Na Pali, which rise thousands of vertical feet into the clouds.

Our island also has a warm touch of community, where it is easy to feel strongly connected to friends and family. The Artist:

“Finding your passion is the meaning of life. For me, Kauai instills and inspires my passion for creativity. I arrived on the island with minimal experience in botanical watercolor painting. However, soon “stoked” by the beauty and calm around me, I flung myself into my craft, and expanded my work into oil painting both within the studio and out in nature. When I’m out in the field, curious passersby often stop in and chat and critique my work. Sometimes new friendships grow out of a shared love of this magical place we call home. At our Anini Beach property, tucked in amongst the palms stands my sweet little art studio.

Set away from the main house the studio is a quiet and peaceful space, which inspires my work. Here I am able to turn off the world and delve into untapped creativity that has been waiting to be revealed. Just outside the studio doors grow a variety of orchids, fruit trees, and other tropical treasures that inspire. And then, there is the SEA… just steps away. It is an absolute haven for any painter, botanical artist, or novelist!” -The Artist

“People always talk about writing as a solitary pursuit, and it is. It requires a fair amount of quiet contemplation and peace. But there’s more to it than that. I think most artistic endeavors require a combination of peace and inspiration. That’s what I found on the magical shores of Anini Beach, on the garden isle of Kauai. Here is an island of almost impossible beauty; lush greenery, turquoise waters, pink sand beaches. On any given day, when I walk out onto my lanai with my notepad and pen, I can hear birdsong, children laughing, waves rolling onto the shore, and a breeze moving through the palm fronds. In an environment like this, creativity soars. I have written many novels on my lanai, or even in a beach chair, with my feet in the sand. There’s a sense of being away from the real world that sets my imagination free.

I believe that anyone who dreams of changing their life, or trying to be an artist of any kind, or already is an artist, will find the peace they need right here. Even more than the peace of the island, I am drawn to the people and the lifestyle. The quiet North Shore of Kauai is filled with accomplished people from all walks of life; people who could live anywhere in the world, but have chosen these few miles of sandy beaches as their haven.

Many of them, like me, came here in search of the perfect work-life balance, where you can do a dozen outdoor activities when your work is done.
