Honolulu Penthouses – Luxury Meets Value

Let’s face it, no other condo product demands more attention, or can demand such high selling prices as “The Penthouse.” According to Wikipedia, the Penthouse term surfaced in New York City during the boom time of the roaring 1920’s. Today, New York is still the mecca of Penthouse condo sales with one recently selling for $90 Million in Manhattan.

This Trump Tower Waikiki Penthouse (MLS# 1205237) is listed for $9,400,000

What does Manhattan have in common with Honolulu? They are both metropolitan cities situated on an island with limited supply and high demand. Relatively speaking, however, Honolulu’s three priciest penthouses on the market (I’m featuring here) are just a fraction of what high-end luxury condos are selling for in Manhattan.

Hokua Penthouse #38L (MLS# 1110173) is listed for $4,980,000

Those from Manhattan and familiar with the Trump brand may find the Penthouse at Trump Tower Waikiki a great value. If not, perhaps the Hokua penthouse above could arguably be one of the nicest luxury buildings on the island? Ironically, neither of the two listings above are on the ocean. They both boast spectacular ocean views and have great locations for walking to shops and restaurants.

This Diamond Head Apts. Penthouse (MLS# 1205528) is the only oceanfront one of the three

In my opinion, the penthouse at the Diamond Head Apartments above is the best value. Considering it is on the ocean at Diamond Head and has amazing views of Kapiolani Park out the back, this is my favorite! I have to admit, I may be a little biased, however, as this was once my grandmother’s unit. I’ve spent countless hours here and have to admit this is one of the best penthouse values in Honolulu.

Do You Have the Dream of Moving to a “Deluxe Apartment in the Sky?”

If you have the dream of moving to a “deluxe apartment in the sky” like TV’s The Jeffersons, however, don’t have millions to spend, don’t worry. There are 61 penthouses for sale today in MLS here on Oahu; 46 of those are under $1 million. As you can see, there are some great values for penthouses here in Honolulu. To find one that fits your budget, feel free to contact me for more information.
