HLCF Continues to Match Donations to Support the Hawaii Resilience Fund

By now, you’ve probably heard of the Hawai‘i Resilience Fund.

In March, as the pandemic began to impact our communities in so many ways, the Hawai‘i Resilience Fund was established at the Hawai‘i Community Foundation in Honolulu. “The Hawai‘i Resilience Fund was created to rapidly deploy resources to community nonprofits and health care providers who are working to address the impacts of COVID-19 in Hawai‘i”. Click here to learn more about the fund’s four-phased approach focused on helping our most vulnerable island residents through these challenging times.

At that time, the board of the Hawai‘i Life Charitable Fund, held at the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, decided to launch a campaign to help raise money and awareness. The HLCF agreed to match the first $40,000 in donations received. We reached out to our 350+ agents and their families, and to our network of clients through these pages, by email, and on social media.

Thanks to all of you for your generous contributions. We know that times are tough and the future is a bit uncertain. Despite this, a total of $11,057 was generously donated to the HLCF between March 25 and May 3o, 2020.

With matching funds from the HLCF and an additional contribution from the Mealoha Kraus Legacy Fund at the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, our agents and board of directors have collectively raised and matched a total of $27,000 to be donated to the Hawai‘i Resilience Fund.

The HLCF board of directors recently agreed to continue our fundraising campaign for this worthy effort. The HLCF will continue to match donations received until July 31, 2020.

Please donate today to double the impact of your contribution. The HLCF will match your donation made at this link

All contributions and matching funds will support the Hawai‘i Resilience Fund at the Hawai‘i Community Foundation to address the continuing impacts of the coronavirus in the Aloha State.

A huge mahalo from the HLCF Board of Directors.
