Hawaii Life Is Proud to Sponsor the ‘Made in Hawaii’ Film Festival This Coming Weekend in Hilo on June 14 in Kona

Hawaii Life is proud to support the second annual Made in Hawaii Film Festival, being held at the Palace Theater in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii on June 1 & 2, and then continuing with a ‘Best of Fest’ event at the Aloha Theater in Kona, Hawaii on June 14. Don’t miss out on this unique Hawaii experience!

We love to support local arts and cultural events that strengthen community ties and bring people together. The annual Made in Hawaii Film Festival showcases da best of homegrown, Hawaii-made independent films.

This year’s event celebrates accomplishments by local filmmakers across multiple genres and styles, including documentaries, narrative shorts, web series, feature films, and experimental cinema.

The event features screenings, but also speakers, filmaker Q&A sessions, and industry panel discussions where attendees can learn about the artists’ inspiration and the practical matters of the film industry in Hawaii. The MIHFF mission is to spotlight cinema being produced in and about the Hawaiian Islands, in an effort to support and grow Hawaii’s independent arts.

Big Island filmmakers Malina Fagan and Lynn Pelletier discuss their film Reefs at Risk at MIHFF 2018.

A full lineup of the festival’s exciting roster of showings is available at MIHFF.org for both Hilo and Kona. A Hilo Festival Pass for just $30 provides access to all screenings and panel discussions with local filmmakers. A Kona access pass can be had for just $16, with individual screening tickets also available for purchase.

Tickets and festival passes can be purchased online, or you can reserve your tickets by calling the Hilo Palace Theater at (808) 934-7010; the Aloha Theater at (808) 322-9924; or simply visit MIHFF.org for all the details!

We look forward to seeing you there!
