The action begins in Kailua-Kona with an international field of athletes from 82 countries, splashing into the bay for the 2.4 mile ocean swim. Participants range in age from 18 to 85 this year. A 112-mile bike race up the dramatic Kona-Kohala Coast follows the swim with a 26.22-mile run capping the event.

It’s an especially interesting time to be on-island as it feels as though the entire world has gathered here for what is really nearly a week-long series of events leading up to the race on Saturday.

With live international media coverage, the event provides a great opportunity to show off the beauty of our spectacular West and North coasts which are home to some of the most exclusive oceanfront luxury communities in Hawaii.
