The Great Pineapple Roundup 2016

sass

You may be aware of all the great typical outdoor activities in Hawaii such as: hiking, biking, visiting the beaches and Scuba/Snorkeling. I bet no one would ever think about the Great Pineapple Roundup held every year right here on Maui.

What is the Great Pineapple roundup?

It is a family fun event of Paniolo (Cowboy) Action Shooting where people don there best Paniolo Old West attire and their trusty firearms while competing for bragging rights of being the best Paniolo (cowboy and cowgirl) each year. The Great Pineapple Roundup is hosted each year by the Maui Marshall’s Club. Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over Hawaii, the Mainland and around the world come to Maui each year to compete in single action shooting of the rifle, pistol and shotgun.

Paniolo (Cowboy) Action Shooting competition is the largest growing form of shooting sports in America. With events held all over America and the world, it offers a family atmosphere of fun and brings back the ways of the Old West of helping your fellow competitor, even if it means they may beat you in doing so. At the end of the three-day event the Club hosts a big Paniolo round up dinner and awards.

If you are just visiting Maui or live here, you can hitch up your wagon and mosey on down to the Ukumehame Range on the first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. till 12 p.m. of each month. Feel free to contact me, “Shoo Fly Kid” with how you can get involved in participating and get to know this great group of friendly (Paniolo) people
