Four Reasons to Attend Agent Reboot in Honolulu on 8-24-11

Inman News is bringing Agent Reboot to Honolulu in next week on Wednesday, August 24th. I’ve often warned agents about the ancillary industry to real estate, which exists completely to sell products and services to real estate professionals. My usual warning is to seriously vet these goods and services, and to measure their ROI, because, frankly speaking SO many of the just plain suck.

Agent Reboot is not on that list. Here’s why:

1. The content is current, and relevant. Inman News is on the forefront of the industry. Very little gets by their radar without scrutiny and discussion. If they’re talking about it, chances are it’s relevant and applicable to the real estate industry.

2. The players are the real deal. Chris Smith was the emcee of Inman Connect in San Francisco. He came to Inman from Move.com where he co-founded Tech Savvy Agent. He’s been a social media consultant and internet marketer since before most of us knew what those terms even meant. Also included in the lineup are Katie Lance, Inman’s Social Media Director  and Nicole Nicolay, author and editor at MyTechOpinion.com. Not to mention the actual guest speakers on the docket, all of whom would be worth the price of admission on their own.

3. You can’t afford not to spend the $49 price of admission. Technology is moving at a telescopic pace. If you tracked every blog post, every news website, and followed all of the important and relevant speakers’ social media accounts… you might be able to keep up (except that you’d be broke, since you wouldn’t have had any time to actually list, prospect, negotiate, and sell… like you were hired to do).

4. Did I mention it’s in Honolulu? Networking with like-minded people in the industry raises the bar for all of us. And, especially in Hawaii, we’re starved for this kind of event and this type of context for us to relate inside of. Those of us from the neighbor islands get to use this opportunity to take a tax-deductible trip to the big city. Big thanks to Hawaii Information Service for their foresight in bringing Agent Reboot to Hawaii (I only wish the dates were different, since I’ll be in Chicago for the NAR Leadership Summit).

If you’re a practicing real estate agent or broker, register for Agent Reboot. You’ll be glad you did. Seriously.

Thanks Matt,
I was planning to go anyway, but now I’m really glad I’m going, thanks for the re-assurance. Can’t wait to learn more tips and do some networking.
