Visit a Kauai's Farmer's Market – How to Core a Pineapple

Hawaii has long been known for its wonderful pineapples. Everyone coming to Hawaii will no doubt end up at a Farmer’s Market and one of the most popular fruits purchased is a fresh pineapple. If you have never bought pineapple outside of a can, you may wonder how to core a pineapple.

Here is a video on how to core your own pineapple. Please use care when doing this and remember this demonstration is done by a professional chef who has done it many times before. So, if this is your first time, go a bit slower until you get the hang of it.

If you are coming to Kauai, here is a list of the locations and times of our Farmer’s Markets. Try to visit one. You will be rewarded with fresh fruits, vegetables, and arm loads of tropical flowers—all at prices you can’t resist.

And while we are talking about pineapples, be sure to visit “the Pineapple House.”

The Pineapple Home, a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom fully remodeled plantation home 5 minutes walking distance from the beach!

This home is now offered at an incredible price of $699K, and an additional feature which makes this property so attractive, is that it is a legally permitted and very popular vacation rental—walking distance to the beach and Wailua River. More information

Pineapples are one of those fruits that people hesitate to buy because they are unfamilar with how to core them or assume that it is a difficult process. Hopefully this takes some of the hesitation out of that next purchase.
