Farmers’ Market Capital of Hawaii – Waimea on the Big Island

Farmers’ Markets are increasing in popularity all over the world. This informal gathering ritual represents more than just fresh, whole food. Today’s Farmers’ Markets bring people from all walks of life together to socialize and celebrate the best of what is being grown and created right there from local resources and local folks. A grass roots display of the values of entrepreneurism and pride in vocation. A growing rebellion from super stores, processed food, long lines, and dark windowless warehouses. Whatever the reason, everyone seems to agree that Farmers’ Markets just make people happy.

Discover the best of what is being grown and created at Waimea Farmers’ Markets

An increasing request I hear when showing property is, “Where is the closest Farmers’ Market?” So popular is the request that being within walking distance to a Farmers’ Market has become a strong selling feature for Waimea’s available listings.

Known for having an ideal climate for growing fruits, produce, and vegetables, Waimea Town on the Big Island of Hawaii now has Farmers’ Markets five days a week. Enjoy four different venue options four days a week, with the most substantial Farmers’ Markets happening on Saturday mornings.

  • Waimea Homestead Farmers’ Market (Saturdays 7:00am to 12:00pm). Located on Hwy 19 next to the 55 mile marker at the Kuhio Hale West Hawaii Office of DHHL. Call (808) 333-2165 for more information.
  • Waimea Town Market at Parker School (Saturdays 8:00am to 2:00pm). Located town-side of Parker School and left of Paniolo Inn and Restaurant in the middle of Waimea Town.
  • Ke Kela Farms on Mana Road (Tuesdays and Fridays 2:00pm to 5:00pm). Located at 64-604 Mana Road on the Green Side of Waimea Town. Visit KekelaFarms.com for details.
  • Waimea Mid-Week Market at Parker Ranch’s Pukalani Stables (Wednesdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm). Located at 69-139 Pukalani Road (on the Waimea by-pass road behind the Parker Ranch Shopping Center – e.g. Starbucks, Foodland).
