The Most Rewarding Sale | One Family's Story of Achieving Hawaii Homeownership

When a great team comes together, anything is possible. It all started with a phone call to Stephanie at Hawaii Life. She introduced me to a family that needed a home to modify for their daughter who lost the use of her legs. They had been renting an apartment and were not able to make the nessesary changes needed for a teenage girl in a wheelchair.

The challenges this family has endured are heartbreaking. When Pua was a child she could run and play as any kid would. Around the time she turned 6, she had fallen and hurt her back. Everyone chalked it up to being a kid falling down. When the pain became unbearable they made several attempts to find out what was going on.

Finally, the doctors found tumors were filling up inside the bottom of her spine, bumping and rubbing on the nerves inside. After two surgeries to remove the tumors, sadly, Pua lost the use of her legs. Now, years later, she is a beautiful teenager with an amazing spirit.

A Big Mahalo

We had our challenges, but with the help of a great team we were able make home ownership a reality. A special thanks to Dominica Rizzo from Guild Mortgage, we were able to get them the loan they needed; Twyla at Title Guarantee was able to help them with all of their escrow needs, and Beau and Ryan at ASMHI. Thank you, Harry and Lena Devery, and everyone here at Hawaii Life!!

I am just so proud to have met this amazing family and to be able to call them friends of mine. If you would like to know more, please visit their gofund me account.
