D.R. Horton's Mehana Project Soon Coming to Completion

D.R. Horton’s Mehana project is soon coming to a completion. The last two communities with availability are Kahiku and Pohakala.

Kahiku at Mehana

There are three sections left to be completed. The most recent lottery were for the final units sold at market value. The last two sections shall be the affordable housing units, as per HHFDC, whose requirements cover income, family size, occupancy, and prior home ownership history.

Pohakala at Mehana

This shall be the 10th and final community at Mehana. They have yet to break ground. Pohakala shall consist of brand new 2 and 3 bedroom two-story condominium townhouses, including DR Horton’s most popular ‘Live-Work’ units, which include a space that can be used for commercial purposes. Pohakala’s Live-Work unit is very different than Kahiku’s model. You will have to see the proposed plans for details, or give me a call. What stands out most, of all floor plans, is the open living, dining, and kitchen space. They all feel quite spacious.

A lottery for Section 1 of the first phase occurred on November 19th at noon. Nine units were to be released. There were 19 prospective buyers who filled out the application and also submitted a notarized owner occupancy affidavit. Construction is scheduled to begin at the beginning of 2017 with owners taking occupancy in the beginning of Summer 2017. Section 1 of Phase 1 shall also include two models. Lottery for Section 2 of Phase 1 shall happen within the next month.
