I recently toured three condominium complexes in central Kaneohe, on Kahuhipa Street near the Windward Mall. This neighborhood has an urban feeling – close to the mall, restaurants, grocery store, and farmers market. It also offers easy access to commuting routes, such as H-3 and the Likelike Highway, and is close to Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
The first community I visited was Windward Acres, a low-rise complex with first and second floor units, but with parking lots underneath the building on the true ground level.
The complex is “motel style” with no central building lobby to offer additional security, so guests can walk up to the unit door. The community consists of several buildings bordering Kahuhipa St. in the front and a wooded buffer zone in the back. The unit I toured, #E207, was in the rear of the community, which was quiet and offered a great view on the way to the front door.
The two bed, one bath condo consisted of 768 square feet of space, and no additional lanai. Two parking stalls are included with the unit at a list price of $349,000. While the condition of the unit was older and basic, it quickly went under contract.
The second community I visited was Hale Ana’ole. The building is a high-rise with a secured entry, modern lobby, and is the best high-rise condo I’ve seen in the Windward Mall area. The unit I visited, Penthouse #6, has spectacular views of Kaneohe Bay and the Ko’olau Mountains and comes with two tandem parking spaces.

Penthouse #6 has been partially renovated, with the kitchen being the best interior feature in the 723 square feet. A lanai would make this unit amazing, but unfortunately, this feature was not included. The listing price is on the high end for this neighborhood, at $385,000.
Mountain View Terrace
At $360,000, I’ve also listed for sale a 2 bed, 1 bath condo in Mountain View Terrace. This building has a secured lobby, a pool, and the unit comes with one parking space. An unusual feature of this condo is that it is two levels, even within the high-rise style building.
